Recap: Crossland Cavaliers vs. Northwestern Wildcats
The Crossland Cavaliers kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 41-28 to Northwestern.
Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Camille Townsend, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Kendra Gaton, who scored 9 points.
Northwestern can attribute much of their success to Amelle Passee, who scored 14 points. Briana Zavala was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Crossland's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Northwestern, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crossland will challenge Gwynn Park at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Gwynn Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday. As for Northwestern, they will head out on the road to face off against Bell at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
