Preview: Mountain View Bruins vs. Wasatch Wasps
After three games on the road, Mountain View is heading back home. They will take on the Wasatch Wasps at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Mountain View pushed their score all the way to 64 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Snow Canyon. Mountain View has struggled against Snow Canyon recently, as their contest on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Conner Fairbanks, who scored 22 points. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Simeon Suguturaga, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wasatch came up short against Timpanogos on Friday and fell 61-50.
Dixie's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Mountain View's loss dropped theirs to 1-3.
Mountain View beat Wasatch 84-71 when the teams last played back in November of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Wasatch's Louis Hoffman, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Mountain View to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
