Basketball Recap: Cedarcrest Takes a Loss

After soaring to 59 points the game before, Cedarcrest was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Meridian Trojans an easy 42-20 victory. While losing is never fun, the Red Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while the Trojans are ranked 47th).

Cedarcrest got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Kaylee Decker and Avery Dice, who each put up four points. Dice also led the team in rebounds with six. Emma Plecher took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Cedarcrest has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Meridian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Cedarcrest will finish 2024 at home by hosting Edmonds-Woodway at 2:00 p.m. on December 30th. Meridian has already played their next game, a 45-35 victory against Sultan on the 26th.
