Basketball Recap: Golden's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

If Wheat Ridge wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Golden, they should've done a better job of containing Leif Hansen. The Golden Demons secured a 64-60 W over the Wheat Ridge Farmers on Friday thanks in part to Hansen, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Dylan Paulson, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (six).

The victory was the fourth in a row for Golden, bringing their record for this year to 13-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for Wheat Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Golden will head out to challenge Dakota Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dakota Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Golden likes a good challenge. As for Wheat Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against D'Evelyn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheat Ridge is facing D'Evelyn at the right time seeing as D'Evelyn is stuck on a 19-game losing streak.
