Basketball Recap: Valley Drops Highest Score of Season Against Patton Springs

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valley). They claimed a resounding 102-13 win over the Patton Springs Rangers. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 23 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trinity Schlueter out in front who went 12 of 16 on her way to 24 points in addition to six assists and five boards. Schlueter has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cecyle Pigg, who went 10 for 12 en route to 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Schlueter wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 27-2 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 31.9% in those games and 30.4% outside of them. As for Patton Springs, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-45 win against Spur on the 28th. Patton Springs has also already played their next matchup, a 45-25 victory against Motley County on the 28th.
