Baseball Recap: Smithville Takes a Loss

Smithville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 9-5 to the Marion County Red Raiders.

Clay Eaton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chance Riggan, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Smithville's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Marion County, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.

Coming up, Smithville will take on Vardaman at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Marion County, they will square off against Lynn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lynn will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Marion County surely won't give up without a fight.
