Soccer Recap: Richland Northeast Takes a Loss

After flying high against Providence last Tuesday, Richland Northeast came back down to earth. The Cavaliers fell just short of the A.C. Flora Falcons by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Richland Northeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 100th, while A.C. Flora are ranked 24th).

Richland Northeast's goal came courtesy of Fran Mencia, who's now up to eight this season.

With the loss, Richland Northeast broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-8. As for A.C. Flora, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4.

Richland Northeast didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against Dreher on the 25th. As for A.C. Flora, they will head out to challenge South Pointe at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. A.C. Flora are facing South Pointe at the right time seeing as South Pointe are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
