Soccer Game Preview: Kellis vs. Sunrise Mountain

Kellis is 2-7 against Sunrise Mountain since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Kellis Cougars will host the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs at 6:00 p.m.

Kellis fell victim to Centennial and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Coyotes, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. Their defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 4-0 shutout. The Mustangs' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last seven contests.

Sunrise Mountain pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those six games. As for Kellis, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-3.

Kellis suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Sunrise Mountain in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Kellis was down 10-0.
