Basketball Recap: Arcadia/Loup City Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ryan Kaslon and Max Lewandowski

Arcadia/Loup City lost against Amherst back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Arcadia/Loup City Rebels took a 39-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Amherst Broncos. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Broncos are ranked 35th).

Despite the loss, Arcadia/Loup City had strong showings from Max Lewandowski, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points, and Ryan Kaslon, who posted eight points.

Amherst's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gavin Davis led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Davis is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Russell, who had nine points.

This is the second loss in a row for Arcadia/Loup City and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Amherst, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Arcadia/Loup City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-49 defeat against St. Paul on the 20th. As for Amherst, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-39 victory against Axtell on the 20th.
