Soccer Game Preview: Citrus Valley vs. Yucaipa

The Citrus Valley Blackhawks will head out on the road to challenge the Yucaipa Thunderbirds at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Citrus Valley fell victim to Redlands East Valley and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Blackhawks haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Yucaipa hadn't done well against Cajon recently (they were 0-7-2 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Yucaipa had just enough and edged Cajon out 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thunderbirds.

Yucaipa has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those nine matches. As for Citrus Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9-2.

Citrus Valley suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Yucaipa in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Citrus Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
