Lake Mary Prep is 8-1 against Crooms Academy since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lake Mary Prep Griffins will host the Crooms Academy Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Crooms Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Mary Prep, who comes in off a win.

If Lake Mary Prep beats Crooms Academy with seven runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Lake Mary Prep beat St. John Lutheran on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-1. Considering the Griffins have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Malachi Beedle was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ben Tate was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Crooms Academy was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They lost 7-1 to Lake Mary Prep. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Griffins: they've now lost six in a row.

Crooms Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leland Smith, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Lake Mary Prep and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Crooms Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything went Lake Mary Prep's way against Crooms Academy in their previous meeting on Thursday, as Lake Mary Prep made off with a 7-1 win. Will Lake Mary Prep repeat their success, or does Crooms Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
