Softball Game Preview: North Central Wolfpack vs. Pullman Greyhounds

North Central is 0-6 against Pullman since May of 2021 but things could change on Saturday. The Wolfpack will venture away from home to face off against the Greyhounds at 12:00 p.m. North Central has given up an average of 29.1 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Rogers on Thursday, falling 27-11.

Meanwhile, Pullman had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 17-13 victory over the Knights. The game was the first time the Greyhounds have beaten the Knights on their field since May 10, 2025.

Bailee Randall was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Taylor Cromie was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Sophie Collins also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Pullman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.

Pullman's record now sits at 7-1. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

North Central suffered a grim 24-3 defeat to Pullman when the teams last played back in March. Can the Wolfpack avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
