Basketball Game Preview: Southern Trojans vs. Bishop Brossart Mustangs

The Southern Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Bishop Brossart Mustangs at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southern is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Southern ended up a good deal behind Eastern and lost 71-57. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Bishop Brossart came up short against New Richmond on Friday and fell 84-74. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 129th in Kentucky, while the Lions are ranked 314th in Ohio).

Bishop Brossart's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Southern, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Southern barely slipped by Bishop Brossart when the teams last played back in February, winning 55-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southern since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
