Baseball Game Preview: J.H. Rose Rampants vs. New Bern Bears

J.H. Rose has gone a perfect 10-0 against New Bern recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rampants will host the Bears at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (J.H. Rose 1.8, New Bern 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

J.H. Rose is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on White Oak with a sharp 15-1 win on Tuesday. With that victory, the Rampants brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Parker Williams looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, J.H. Rose let Josh Roberson and Luke Tyndall run wild. Roberson went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Tyndall went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Tyndall a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Hastings, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

J.H. Rose was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, New Bern didn't have quite enough to beat D.H. Conley on Tuesday and fell 6-5.

J.H. Rose's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for New Bern, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-5.

J.H. Rose came out on top in a nail-biter against New Bern in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Rampants have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
