Preview: Dillon Christian Warriors vs. King's Academy Lions
Dillon Christian is 8-2 against King's Academy since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Dillon Christian Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the King's Academy Lions at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th. Dillon Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully King's Academy likes a good challenge.
Dillon Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Lake View by a score of 75-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dillon Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Outlar, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Outlar has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Thompson Stone, who scored 22 points along with seven assists.
Meanwhile, King's Academy's game on Thursday was all tied up 15-15 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to Conway Christian 38-33.
Dillon Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for King's Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
Dillon Christian took their victory against King's Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 71-46. Will Dillon Christian repeat their success, or does King's Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
