Football Recap: Hanks Drops Season-High Score on Chapin

Hanks scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Chapin Huskies by a score of 52-50. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (35), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Hanks still got an impressive performance from Austin Deucher, who rushed for 321 yards and four TDs while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Deucher was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards. Jordan Morales also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Daveon Singleton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chapin, rushing for 231 yards and three scores while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 130 yards and one TD. Those 231 rushing yards gave Singleton a new career-high. Joshua Martel was another key player, rushing for 126 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

With the defeat, Hanks broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Chapin, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Hanks will square off against Palo Duro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Dons have now posted at least 31 points in their last nine games. As for Chapin, they will challenge Cooper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
