Softball Recap: Hackley Hornets vs. Dalton Tigers
Hackley put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Dalton Tigers onto the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering Hackley has won five games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Andrea Hegarty made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Hegarty has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season. Hegarty was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Elle Karger was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Evelyn Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
