Basketball Game Preview: Life Waxahachie Mustangs vs. Kennedale Wildcats

The Life Waxahachie Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Kennedale Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Life Waxahachie is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Venus just ended the team's 14-game winning streak on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (54-50), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as they came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 823rd).

Meanwhile, Kennedale humbled Alvarado with a 72-41 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Kennedale is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Life Waxahachie, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 20-6.

Life Waxahachie came up short against Kennedale in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 68-59. Can Life Waxahachie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
