Volleyball Game Preview: Dawson Eagles vs. Byron Nelson Bobcat

After both having extra time off, the Dawson Eagles and the Byron Nelson Bobcat will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Dawson sitting on 22 straight wins and Byron Nelson on 77 (dating back to last season).

Dawson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out O'Connor 3-2.

Meanwhile, Byron Nelson faced Cypress Ranch in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bobcat were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Mustangs.

Byron Nelson never let Cypress Ranch on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-16.

Dawson's victory bumped their record up to 42-4. As for Byron Nelson, their win bumped their record up to 41-0.

Dawson came up short against Byron Nelson in their previous matchup back in August of 2015, falling 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
