On the hitting side, American Leadership Academy-Johnston let Teagan Nickerson and Bryce Adams run wild. Nickerson scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Adams scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave Adams a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Boswell, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
American Leadership Academy-Johnston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Neuse Charter only posted a batting average of .154.
Meanwhile, Eastern Wayne fell victim to Rocky Mount and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 17-0 to the Gryphons.
Eastern Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Eastern Wayne's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. American Leadership Academy-Johnston has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Eastern Wayne, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will American Leadership Academy-Johnston keep running through batters, or will Eastern Wayne buck the trend?
