Baseball Game Preview: Lee Ganders vs. Barbers Hill Eagles

Lee is 0-7 against Barbers Hill since March of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lee Ganders will face off against the Barbers Hill Eagles at 6:30 p.m.

Lee fell victim to Nederland and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 7-0. The Ganders' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Barbers Hill). They put the hurt on Port Arthur Memorial with a sharp 16-2 victory on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Ayden Mooring looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had over his last four matchups.

On the hitting side, Cale Dunham was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Davis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Barbers Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port Arthur Memorial only posted an OBP of .348.

Lee's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Barbers Hill, their record now sits at 16-3.

Lee came up short against Barbers Hill when the teams last played back in April of 2023, falling 5-1. Can Lee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
