Volleyball Recap: Cody Krohn and Elmer Catapang Secure Win for Mission Vista

While Mission Vista's victory against San Dieguito Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Mission Vista won by a set and slipped past San Dieguito Academy 3-2. Mission Vista hasn't had any issues with San Dieguito Academy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Mission Vista wouldn't go down easily and took San Dieguito Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-16, 19-25, 25-15, 17-15.

Leading Mission Vista to victory were Elmer Catapang and Cody Krohn. Catapang had 11 digs and five assists, while Krohn hit 61.5% for nine kills and 32 assists and nine digs. That's the most kills Krohn has posted since back in March.

San Dieguito Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Noah Ansaldo, who had 20 digs and two aces, and Robbie Hacker, who had 17 assists and three digs. Ansaldo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Mission Vista pushed their record up to 20-13 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for San Dieguito Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-16.

Mission Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Westview on the 2nd. As for San Dieguito Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Mission Bay on the 6th.
