Pius X not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since November 2, 2024 (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Duchesne Cardinals. This was payback for the Thunderbolts, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

While Pius X won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-12, 25-14.

Leading Pius X to victory were Mallory Mahan and Kami Wemhoff. Mahan had nine digs, while Wemhoff had seven digs and two assists.

The win made it two in a row for Pius X and bumps their season record up to 14-9. As for Duchesne, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Pius X wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Standing Bear on the 3rd. As for Duchesne, they will head out on the road to face off against Mercy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
