Football Game Preview: Mary Walker vs. Chewelah

Mary Walker will take on Chewelah at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. Mary Walker aren't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them last game, maybe the squad has another upset up their sleeve.

Last Friday, Mary Walker put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They were gifted an easy victory as Columbia wound up forfeiting 22-48. No one put up better numbers for Mary Walker than senior Cory Hubert, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 71 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Chewelah got themselves on the board against Wilbur-Creston, but Wilbur-Creston never followed suit. Chewelah made easy work of Wilbur-Creston and carried off a 34-0 win. Chewelah were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Their wins bumped Chewelah to 2-3 and Mary Walker to 3-2. Two forfeits in a row aren't very likely, so Mary Walker better be ready for a battle.
