Recap: Bluff City Gray Wolves vs. Freedom Prep Academy Eagles
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Bluff City Gray Wolves ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Freedom Prep Academy out 43-41. Winning may never get old, but Bluff City sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Bluff City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamesha Stout, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Stout has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lakeva Applewhite, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Bluff City's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Freedom Prep Academy, Sheffield, and Freedom Prep Academy. As for Freedom Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluff City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Freedom Prep Academy, they will challenge Sheffield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Sheffield is ranked 401st, while Freedom Prep Academy is ranked 397th).
