Soccer Game Preview: Moses Brown vs. Ponaganset

The Moses Brown Quakers will face off against the Ponaganset Chieftains at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Moses Brown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Toll Gate, who was ranked 17th at the time (Moses Brown was ranked 25th). The Quakers fell just short of the Titans by a score of 3-2 on Friday.

Rose Couto wasn't going to let Toll Gate walk away unscathed as she scored both of Moses Brown's goals, bringing her season total up to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, Ponaganset entered their tilt with East Providence on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Townies with a sharp 4-1 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

Ponaganset's victory bumped their record up to 6-10-3. As for Moses Brown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Moses Brown suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Ponaganset in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Quakers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
