Baseball Recap: Everett's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Everett can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Monroe Bearcats. For the Seagulls, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 victory the Bearcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Owen Brunni made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Isaac Blackburn was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Mac Larsen also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Everett's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Monroe, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-9 record.

Everett will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bearcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
