Greenville has gone 9-1 against Carlyle recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians/Lady Indians at 10:00 a.m. Greenville is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.

On Tuesday, Greenville beat Hillsboro 8-5.

Meanwhile, Carlyle came up short against Red Bud on Thursday and fell 6-1.

Carlyle saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Guthrie, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Carlyle's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Greenville, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Greenville took their victory against Carlyle in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-2 score. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Indians/Lady Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
