Volleyball Game Preview: Oakwood Hawks vs. Chartwell Bulldogs

The Oakwood Hawks will square off against the Chartwell Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Oakwood is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

On Wednesday, Oakwood made easy work of Kirby Prep and carried off a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Oakwood was: they took every set by at least 18 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-6, 25-4.

Oakwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isabelle Anderson, who had ten aces and five kills. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last 24 games she's played dating back to last season. Gianna Garcia was another key player, getting 15 aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Oakwood was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 38 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Chartwell came up short against Kirby Prep last Monday and fell 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 23-25, 25-17, 25-9.

Oakwood's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Chartwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.

Oakwood took their win against Chartwell in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
