Volleyball Game Preview: Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers vs. Custer Wildcats

Lead-Deadwood hasn't had much luck against Custer recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. Custer took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lead-Deadwood, who comes in off a win.

Lead-Deadwood will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Douglas, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Golddiggers won by a set and slipped past the Patriots 3-2. The game was the first time the Golddiggers have beaten the Patriots on their court since October 22, 2019.

Lead-Deadwood wouldn't go down easily and took Douglas into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-14, 17-15.

Meanwhile, Custer came up short against Hill City on Tuesday and fell 3-1.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-16, 22-25, 25-18.

The win made it two in a row for Lead-Deadwood and bumps their season record up to 11-17. As for Custer, their loss dropped their record down to 24-12.
