Baseball Recap: Victory Christian Drops Highest Score of Season Against Cornerstone

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Victory Christian). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cornerstone Eagles a 22-0 shutout on Monday. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.

Caleb Powers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caleb Wilson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Dwayne Talley was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
