Recap: Amherst County Lancers vs. Jefferson Forest Cavaliers
The Amherst County Lancers lost against the Jefferson Forest Cavaliers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Amherst County took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jefferson Forest. Amherst County has struggled against Jefferson Forest recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Amherst County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Syrell McQueen, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Ania Thompson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Amherst County now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Jefferson Forest, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amherst County and Liberty will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Jefferson Forest, they will be playing at home against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
