Basketball Game Preview: South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls vs. North Stanly Comets

South Stanly hasn't had much luck against North Stanly recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls will face off against the North Stanly Comets at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Stanly was handed a 52-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Gray Stone Day 45-42.

South Stanly can attribute much of their success to Briley Page, who posted 13 points. Page has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mya McCray, who earned four points and 14 rebounds.

South Stanly smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 33 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Stanly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Anson by a score of 44-31 on Thursday. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

South Stanly's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-19. As for North Stanly, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

South Stanly ended up a good deal behind North Stanly in their previous meeting two weeks ago, losing 44-30. Can South Stanly avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
