Volleyball Game Preview: West Memphis Christian Black Knights vs. Pillow Academy Mustangs

The West Memphis Christian Black Knights are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Pillow Academy Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, West Memphis Christian made easy work of Columbus Christian Academy and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Black Knights.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: West Memphis Christian took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-7, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Pillow Academy posted their closest victory since August 6, 2024 on Monday. They won by a set and slipped past Heritage Academy 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

Pillow Academy took Heritage Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-20, 25-12, 23-25, 22-20.

The victory got Pillow Academy back to even at 1-1. As for West Memphis Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

West Memphis Christian beat Pillow Academy 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Black Knights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
