Staunton is a perfect 10-0 against Riverheads since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Storm will face off against the Gladiators at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Staunton has six straight wins, Riverheads has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Staunton's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Waynesboro 3-0. The result was nothing new for Staunton, who have now won five matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Riverheads' offense. They lost 8-0 to Waynesboro on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that Riverheads have lost by exactly eight goals.

Staunton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Riverheads, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Staunton's way against Riverheads in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Staunton made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
