Tyler fell victim to Hallsville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They suffered a tough 23-0 defeat at the hands of the Bobcats.
Meanwhile, Marshall had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Longview with a sharp 15-5 win on Friday. The victory was just what Marshall needed coming off of a 14-5 loss in their prior contest.
Makayla Jones was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI, a run, and a double. Another player making a difference was Amaria Boyd, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Tyler's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Marshall, their win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-9.
