Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Takes a Loss

St. Joseph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Westhill Vikings, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cadets of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While St. Joseph was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-23, 25-11.

Their offense was headlined by Ana Joksovic and Julia DelRe, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Lilly Kugit and her 15 assists. Sarah Lovett controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Westhill, they moved to 2-3 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. Joseph is set to challenge their familiar foe Wilton at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Westhill will square off against rival New Canaan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
