Soccer Recap: Swett Takes a Loss

Swett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the El Cerrito Gauchos, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1226th, while the Gauchos are ranked 169th).

Swett's loss dropped their record down to 0-13-1. As for El Cerrito, their win bumped their record up to 8-2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Swett has already played their next matchup (against Hercules), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. El Cerrito will venture away from home to square off against Albany at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Albany's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
