Basketball Recap: Central Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Mike Hoff and Jaylen Rogers

Central Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against the West Stanly Colts, falling 77-52. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-55 back in December of 2024.

Central Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Jaylen Rogers and Mike Hoff. Rogers posted 20 points, while Hoff had 14 points.

Central Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for West Stanly, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-11 record.

Central Academy has already played their next matchup, a 79-51 loss against Anson on the 28th. As for West Stanly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-43 victory against Parkwood on the 28th.
