Basketball Recap: Roscommon Takes a Loss

Roscommon lost against Beal City back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Roscommon Bucks took a blow against the Beal City Aggies, falling 78-44. While losing is never fun, the Bucks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 507th, while the Aggies are ranked 165th).

Despite the loss, Roscommon still got an impressive performance from Keaton Pratt, who posted 17 points and five steals. The matchup was Pratt's third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Owen Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Roscommon dropped their record down to 6-11 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Beal City, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roscommon will challenge Alcona at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Alcona will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Roscommon surely won't give up without a fight. As for Beal City, they will take on Pine River Area at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Pine River Area's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
