Preview: St. Bonaventure Seraphs vs. Folsom Bulldogs
The St. Bonaventure Seraphs will square off against the Folsom Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with St. Bonaventure sitting on five straight wins and Folsom on nine.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Bonaventure walked away with it. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Saints 21-20.
Among those leading the charge was Koen Glover, who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 50 receiving yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to St. Bonaventure's defense and their five sacks. St. Augustine's QB won't forget Matt Perez anytime soon given Perez sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, Folsom faced Pittsburg in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Folsom skirted past Pittsburg 28-25.
Folsom found their leader in underclassman Ryder Lyons, who rushed for 122 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 191 yards and a touchdown while completing 78.6% of his passes. Lyons has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.
The last time St. Bonaventure lost on the road was back back in October. Having now won three straight away contests, they've pushed their record up to 12-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Folsom, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.
