Basketball Game Preview: Miami-Yoder Buffaloes vs. Calhan Bulldogs

The Miami-Yoder Buffaloes will head out to face off against the Calhan Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Calhan took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Miami-Yoder, who comes in off a win.

Miami-Yoder will bounce into Friday's game after beating Genoa-Hugo/Karval, who they had gone 0-5 against in their five prior meetings. Miami-Yoder was the clear victors by a 61-36 margin over Genoa-Hugo/Karval on Wednesday. The Buffaloes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 25 points or more this season.

Miami-Yoder can attribute much of their success to Jel Wallerstedt, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and ten boards, and Gavin Howard, who posted 22 points and six steals. That's the most points Howard has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Bernhart, who had seven points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Calhan lost to Swink at home by a 66-50 margin on Wednesday.

Miami-Yoder's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Calhan, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Miami-Yoder didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Calhan when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 57-53 victory. Does Miami-Yoder have another victory up their sleeve, or will Calhan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
