Softball Recap: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. East Lake Eagles

St. Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the East Lake Eagles, falling 17-2. The Green Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

St. Petersburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joselyn Castagner, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Victoria Wirth also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

St. Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for East Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

St. Petersburg will head out to challenge Countryside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tarpon Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
