Blue Wave finish No. 1 for fourth times since 2015.

The high school football season came to an end in Connecticut over the weekend with Darien claiming the Class LL championship with a 42-7 win over Fairfield Prep and staking its place as the No. 1 team in the final Connecticut MaxPreps Top 25.

Darien lost one game while compiling a 12-1 record. The Blue Wave lost to New Canaan in the regular season, but then avenged the loss in the playoffs. Darien has finished No. 1 in the state four times since 2015.

St. Thomas More (Oakdale), a NEPSAC Freelance team, ranks second in the state despite having an 0-2 record against high school competition. Those two losses however, were close losses to two of the nation's top teams - St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.) and IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.).

Maloney (Meriden), the Class L champion, comes in at No. 3 while New Canaan is No. 4.
