Softball Recap: Midlothian's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Midlothian came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Terrell Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 31-3 back in March.

Midlothian got a great performance from Paige Insley as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Insley a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Madison Howard was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Robledo, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Midlothian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 19-7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Terrell, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Coming up, Midlothian will be playing at home against Cleburne at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Terrell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
