Basketball Recap: Osmond Falls Despite Big Games from Korrine Moes and Sophie Gansebom

On Tuesday, the Osmond Tigers came up short against the Santee Warriors and fell 42-34. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Osmond's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophie Gansebom, who posted eight points in addition to 11 boards and five steals, and Korrine Moes, who put up 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those five steals gave Gansebom a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Osmond smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

It was another big night for Miley Pike, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 boards for Santee. The game was Pike's ninth in a row with at least 17 points. Aubrinee Tuttle was another key player, putting up five points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

Osmond's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Santee, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Osmond will challenge Wausa at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Osmond is facing Wausa at the right time seeing as Wausa is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Santee has already played their next contest (against Winnebago), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
