Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Tri-Valley

Tri-Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Rockland Central Wildcats 12-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-1 back in April.

Avery Carrier was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Tia Van Valkenberg was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Brea Sheeley, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Tri-Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Rockland Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coming up, Tri-Valley will take on Burke Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rockland Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Eldred at 4:30 p.m. on the 20th.
