Softball Recap: Beyer Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Beyer brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They put the hurt on the Los Banos Tigers with a sharp 10-3 victory on Wednesday. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 7-0 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Destiny Pitts was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February of 2025. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. Those hits marked the first that she has got this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mckenna Kimoto, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Alanna Verges, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Beyer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Beyer's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Los Banos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Beyer will be taking part in a tournament against Turlock at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Los Banos, they are taking a road trip to take on Patterson at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
