Basketball Recap: Hendersonville's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Hendersonville lost against Cookeville back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hendersonville Commandos fell 44-34 to the Cookeville Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Commandos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Cavaliers are ranked tenth).

Cookeville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie Gillies, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Macy Hudson, who had eight points and nine rebounds.

Hendersonville's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Cookeville, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Hendersonville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-28 victory against White House on the 9th. As for Cookeville, they will face off against Smyrna at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th.
