Softball Recap: Keystone Takes a Loss

Steele hit Keystone with a five-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 4-2 to the Comets when the teams met back in April of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Keystone saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bristol Foster, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Keystone's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Steele, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Keystone and Steele are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Wildcats will square off against South Range at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Keystone's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Steele, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hudson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
